History of A&B Drama

Once upon a time, in Swanage

on the remote

Isle of Purbeck a drama group was

created in order to perform

Metis and Enkelados,

a play by Llanit Marasz.

Later that year, A&B Drama

were conceived in 2015,

with the first

Evenings of Conceptual Absurdity

The concept moved to London in 2018

calling themselves A&B drama club,

performing that year in October

and February/March 2019

at the Finchley Youth Theatre

...but after that, in spring 2019 we had to announce the following

BREAKING NEWS:

AB Drama Club forced to leave the UK and return to Europe

After many years of prosperous and preposterous absurdity shows we had to

LEAVE the UK for some very obvious reasons.

For a long time the UK was a brilliant place for ABSURDITY in the arts. But in the last years something shifted... ABSURDITY was slowly leaving the cultural world, creeping into British politics. With Absurdity Boris becoming PM the shift was completed. With parts of Britain LEAVING EUROPE, the ABSURD ARTS have lost their momentum... Now, you will find the flair, the flavour and the phenomenon of pure ABSURDITY (without any reason but ABSURDITY) nowhere better embedded and incarnated than in Absurdity Boris. For this reason AB Drama Club have left London on the very day King Boris became PM of the so called United Kingdom.

We raise our hat to King Boris, the best British actor of this millennium... and the worst*British politician ever...

Hence, we moved to Germany, Europe...

but due to COVID there were no shows in 2020 and 2021.

Yes, we were gone.

But now we are back!

In summer 2022 we had our first shows in Swanage, one of the true cultural hubs in Britain apart from London, Edinburgh and stuff...

And as the best ever absurd actor has left his Downing Street stage, it's due time for us revigorate the ABSURIDITY in the UK...
